This angel is so dynamic it has almost freed itself from the wall.  The sculpture is carefully painted in lifelike detail.

Other statues in the Church are dressed in real clothes, like this Virgin Mary.  On the wall behind her you can see painted the faces of the angels or cherubim exalting her glory, or whatever it is they do.  In this picture and the one below, notice the life-like hues given to the faces of the figures.

This painted priest sculpture is holding the Christ child (?), which dressed in real clothing.  The tableau is framed by decorative painting on the walls and pillars around them.
