escalators of the district of columbia

Normally I live in California, but between 1995 and 1999 I had to travel regularly to our nation's capitol, Washington, D.C.  My memories of those trips are so bound up in the moronic shenanigans of my pasta-brained cow-orkers that it's practically impossible to write this without finding myself down one of memory's darker and nastier alleys.

Washington Metro

But the fact is, DC has some way cool metro stations (not to mention the construction site next to the FBI building, and other stuff I couldn't get pictures of because I was working).

Dupont Circle Metro

The local specialty seems to be really, really steep escalators, like this one out of the Dupont Circle Station.
