The theater building had been used for storage by a furniture company for many years.  When the furniture company moved out, the Friends of the Cerrito Theater cleaned things up enough to show to the public.  The purpose of the Open House was to get feedback from El Cerrito residents about what to do with the old building.  For me it was mainly a chance to smell, feel and touch some authentic local history.
